Paul Symonds new chief executive of Laurel
Paul Symonds, former MD of Spirit Group's Pubs and Bars division, has been announced as the new chief executive of Laurel.
He will report to Laurel chairman Ian Payne, who has been acting chief executive since May.
Symonds starts his new role on 4 September, when he will also join Laurel's board and executive committee.
Symonds has also spent time as MD of Burger King in the UK and Ireland, and was joint MD of Bright Reasons Restaurants.
Symonds said: "I am thrilled to be joining Laurel and believe it is already in a strong position in the managed pub sector. I look forward to working closely with the board and management team to take Laurel to the next stage of its growth strategy."
Payne said: "Paul has over 25 years of operational experience in the licensed retail industry. His experience, understanding of the market, vision and leadership will significantly benefit Laurel and its future growth strategy as well as augment the strong senior management already at the company."
