HeyJo club still flouting ban

The fourth smoke ban rebel venue – HeyJo club in Westminster – continues to flout the smoking ban.

Owner of the club Dave West, who has hired Cherie Blair to force a Judicial Review of the ban, is also helping to organise a mass protest for Hamish Howitt's court appearance on 5 November.

Its defence rests on the ban breaching the human rights of guests and staff.

West's right hand man Harry Barnett told the morningadvertiser.co.uk: "We are more popular than ever before.

"We were hoping Westminster council would come down here but they haven't. We have even invited them down.

"We will take this ban to judicial review and then to the House of Lords if that fails and then to the European Court.

"It could take five years and until then we will continue to allow smoking.

"We are taking loads of people up to support Hamish on 5 November. We are all dressing up as Guy Fawkes.

"This ban is ridiculous."
