Bar Sport’s franchise plan
Bar Sport, the sports bar operator founded by Scott Murray, is to offer a franchise.
The company believes it can expand to about 100 sites in the next three to five years through the franchise route.
Bar Sport believes that the current difficult market conditions provide the perfect platform for a successful franchise launch of a proven formula.
Franchisees will benefit from an expert team at their disposal and be able to seek assistance in finding the right site.
Murray said: “Our franchise is like nothing else on the market.
Highlights include our willingness to offer those involved national discounts, or the option to trade free of tie.
“Franchisees are also offered the benefit of operating within a ‘genuine’ franchise arrangement — with an expert team on hand, plus advice ranging from finding the right site, to help on branding.”
Bar Sport’s non-executive chairman is John Donnelly, who has a proven track record in franchise businesses, with the Holiday Hypermarket and the Virgin Holidays brand among his numerous successes.
Holiday Hypermarket has grown to 30 superstores in a little over three years, while the Virgin Holidays brand now has 100 travel shops on the high street.
Bar Sport was founded about nine years ago and operates in Cannock, Walsall, Rugby and Loughborough.
The bars each have an average turnover of £1m a year, although the Loughborough site, which opened last year, is expected to generate £1.5m to £2m a year going forward.
