Fifth Grand Union plan
The Grand Union Group, the operator of the burger-bar and cocktail-lounge concept, is to launch its first site outside London, in Buckinghamshire, in spring 2009.
The company will open its fifth outlet, in Stoke Hammond, in partnership with Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises next year following a £500,000 refurbishment. The group, founded in 2006 by Adam Marshall and Adam Sandford, said the site would be more food-led than its London outlets.
The new venue will be re-branded as the Grand Union Bar & Grill, instead of the Classic Burger Bar and Cocktail Lounge, as the other sites are known.
The group’s partners are looking to focus their expansion on national sites after finding it difficult to secure freehold properties in London and are interested in a new pier development at Chatham, in Kent.
