Budweiser goes for record with 100m bar

Budweiser has built a 100m long bar at London's Southbank to mark the Olympic 100m final on Saturday.

Mark Lewis-Francis: 100m outdoor bar record

The bar, 63m longer than its nearest rival, has been submitted to the Guinness Book of Records for verification of the record as the longest outdoor bar.

The bar will be open for over-18s to come and enjoy a Budweiser beer – the official beer of the Olympic Games.

British sprinter Mark Lewis-Francis, cruelly missing the games due to injury, is supporting Budweiser in its record bid. "I’m working with Budweiser to celebrate our country’s Olympic spirit and cheer on our athletes, who are some of the most dedicated and talented in the world," he said.

Vicki Kipling, Budweiser’s UK marketing director added: “We are toasting our athletes’ Olympic Games performances in a way that only Budweiser can – by inviting adults to join us today at this world record-breaking bar to raise a cold Bud to the team’s dedication and say cheers to their successes.”
