Everards hails sporting triumphs
Leicester-based Everards Brewery has unveiled a guest beer in honour of the achievements of the city’s rugby union and football teams.
Champions beer celebrates both Leicester Tigers winning the Guinness Premiership and Leicester City securing promotion to the football Championship by winning League One.
The 4.3% abv light beer, which has summer-fruit flavours, is made with a blend of Tettnang, Fuggles, Goldings, Challenger and Cascade hops.
“We felt the city’s sporting success deserved special recognition and what better way than by honouring both teams with a delicious commemorative beer,” said head brewer Graham Gilbert.
“Champions also heralds the start of summer and is a light, refreshing beer, perfect for the warmer weather. We urge people to try a pint at their local Everards pub over the next month and tell us what they think.”
