Jones becomes Mecca Bingo boss
The former executive chairman of Premium Bars and Restaurants Mark Jones starts a new job as managing director of Mecca Bingo this morning.
The company runs 103 clubs and employs 3,000 people. Jones left Premium Bars and Restaurants last October after three years running the company. Previously, he ran the Yates’s bar business which was turned private and then bought by Robert Tchenguiz’s R20 company.
Jones has also held senior positions at Whitbread, running its Pizza Hut division for a period. Jones is also rumoured to have been in the frame for the vacant position of chief executive of the British Beer and Pub Association.
