Batemans launches a Good Honest Ale?

Batemans has launched a lighter-coloured cask ale with mystery name to join its core range from this month.

GHA, which has an abv of 4.2%, is brewed with East Anglian Maris Otter barley, East Kent Goldings and Challenger hops. The beer is described as having a citrus taste and a lovely spicy aroma.

“The name itself is a talking point as we made the decision not to explain what GHA stands for. Some have guessed it is from our slogan ‘Good Honest Ales’, said MD Stuart Bateman.

“We have received some interesting alternatives from our licensees, though I’m afraid, for risk of offending, I cannot repeat these here!”

The newcomer will be available across Batemans’ own retail estate and also through national distributors and wholesalers.
