Wimbledon win for UK drinks brands
Thousands of fans waiting to see Andy Murray win at Wimbledon got the chance to sample a plethora of drinks brands as they queued.
Blossom hill is making the most of Murray's winning streak
Suppliers such as Diageo, Halewood International and Fuller's, used the rare combination of sunshine and a UK tennis star on a winning streak to offer tennis fans samples of their summer drinks offers, with great success.
Diageo, which supports the tennis championships through its Blossom Hill wine brand, which is the official wine of Wimbledon for the third year running this year, put on pink table tennis and branded rickshaws to entertain the crowds, along with an extensive sampling campaign.
Halewood International took the opportunity to tempt tennis fans to try its new Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer in the sunshine this weekend, head of innovation Richard Clark told the Morning Advertiser last week, while Fuller's was handing out 15,000 samples of its Organic Honey Dew brew.
“We believe that sampling is the best way to introduce people to the beer and by choosing the right time and place, such as Wimbledon on a sunny summers day, we can bring Honey Dew to the attention of more and more people,” said brands marketing director David Spencer.
