Taybarns asks diners: where next?

Whitbread is asking customers to vote for where they want the next Taybarn’s all-you-can-eat concept to open.

Taybarns: looking for popular vote on next location

The company, which has seven Taybarns, dubbed as the “ultimate eatery”, is inviting customers through the Taybarns’ website to vote from a list of 21 locations.

The “We want a Taybarns” section invites customers to cast their votes for places including Bedford, Birmingham, Blackpool, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Ipswich, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Northampton, Norwich, Plymouth, Ports-mouth, Sheffield, Southampton and Stoke.

Suzanne Curry, head of Whitbread restaurants marketing division, said: “As with all newly-launched restaurant concepts, we listen carefully to our guests to understand what they want from Taybarns. This information will feed into all future plans for the development of the Taybarns brand.”

The brand offers a smaller choice of dishes during the day. The same breadth of offer is available from the concept’s 34-metre food counters, such as wok, pizza, rotisserie, grill, carvery, salad, soup and desserts but the number of choices for each section is two or three between 11.30am to 5pm at £5.99 and four or five on each section from 5pm at £7.99. Weekend prices are £8.49 all day, increasing from £7.99 since the brand’s launch in December 2007. Children’s prices are £3.99 all day, reducing from £4.50 since launch.

A “Texican” food theme including fajitas, chilli con carne and cheesy nachos, will be added to the food offer from 6 July until the end of September.

Curry added: “It’s our intention to introduce a number of fantastic and fun Taybarns food themes across the year.” Each Taybarns site averages 7,000 covers a week.
