Welsh Assembly pro-pub group to meet often
Pro-pub Welsh Assembly Members plan to hold meetings at least every two months and focus on one topic of concern to licensees and brewers at each event.

The decision follows the first formal meeting of the Cross-Party Assembly Beer & Pub Group last week.
A range of subjects were discussed, from tax and regulation to the beer tie and responsible retailing.
“It was a very productive meeting,” a spokesman said.
“The plan is to have a regular meeting at least every other month and focus on one topic. We can get a lot more out of it that way.”
The group plans to invite to the meeting the villagers who run the Raven Inn at Llanarmon-yn-Ial, Denbighshire, as a community venture.
Representatives of Pub is the Hub, which helps rural pubs diversify, will also be asked to speak. And there are plans to study developments around minimum pricing in Scotland.
The group also wants to encourage the Welsh Assembly to serve local beers, wines and food at official functions. “It’s quite embarrassing that we haven’t done so in the past,” the spokesman said.
