Greene King Christmas campaign
Greene King has revealed its real ale offers for the Christmas season.
Old Speckled Hen is at the centre of Greene King’s Christmas campaign, a smooth amber ale with a fruity, malty taste.
It will also be launching festive Old Speckled Hen glassware and drip mats, destined to slot together to form a Christmas tree.
The ongoing “Seek out something different” sponsorship campaign on TV channel Dave has raised the profile of Old Speckled Hen, according to the brewer.
Abbot Ale, a fruity ale containing four hops, will also be advertised over the festive season on Brian Blessed’s classic tales on the same channel.
“Now is the time to take advantage of the massive increase of interest in cask beer,” said Greene King marketing director Fiona Hope. “So, the key challenge for licensees is to get the right range of cask beers, to up-sell like mad and to serve every pint in great condition. Tell your customers that cask beer is for life, not just for Christmas, and give them a reason to come back for more!”
Greene King have brought back Abbot Reserve for the Christmas season, “a full-bodied, smooth and mature beer”.
Also back for December is Rocking Rudolph. “Rocking Rudolph is a rich, dark and fruity Christmas ale and is Greene King’s most popular seasonal beer,” said head brewer John Bexton.
