TCG sells pub to JDW for £1.1m

JD Wetherspoons has bought the freehold of the Bear, a former Tattershall Castle Group venue in Maidenhead, for a consideration of £1.1m.

The prominent three-storey late Victorian style property is located at the junction at St Mary’s Close and High Street in the town’s main eating and drinking circuit.

It trades on two floors with bars on the ground and first floor and space for private functions and staff accommodation on the second floor. It also has outside space seating 30 people.

Paul Tallentyre, director of pubs at agents Davis Coffer Lyons, who handled the sale, said: “JD Wetherspoons has been very acquisitive in the last few months picking up some great pubs and this freehold property is a prime example of this.”
