Record festive take at Novus Lesiure

Tiger Tiger operator Novus Leisure has reported a record festive trading period with like-for-like sales up 15.5% for the three weeks to 1 January.

Tiger Tiger: performed well at Christmas and New Year

Novus said that like-for-likes for the six week period (20 November-2 January) were up 10.6% and 75% of its revenue had been from advanced bookings.

Internet bookings were up 41% and like-for-likes at Tiger Tiger were up 11.3% with food accounting for 38% of revenue.

“The period growth figures are in line with what we’ve been experiencing since the summer, but we are particularly pleased by the resilience of trading for the three weeks of Christmas and New Year (14th Dec to Jan 1st) where like for like sales were up 15.5% despite the heavy snow falls which severely affected London and the South East," said chief executive Steve Richards.

“Its bitter sweet this year, the business has taken significant market share and held on to margin, but we can’t help but wonder what it would have looked like without the snow.”
