Berlucchi set for UK distribution

An Italian sparkling wine brand that dates back to 1961 is to be distributed in the UK.

Berlucchi: UK launch

CWF has recently been appointed as the sole UK distributor of Berlucchi Cuvée, the brand of Metodo Classico-produced sparkling wine.

The brand will be available in two premium styles — Berlucchi Franciacorte Storica ’61 Brut and Berlucchi Cuvée Imperiale Max Rosé.

The drink, which was first produced in 1961, uses Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Once bottled, the Metodo Classico secondary fermentation process begins.

“Italian sparkling wines such as Prosecco continue to capture the UK’s hearts. Consumers are ready to step up to the next level with Metodo Classico,” said CWF marketing manager, Vicky Lee. “Champagne sales in December were buoyant — consumers still want to celebrate the festive season with Champagne and sparkling wines.

“Berlucchi and CWF are taking a long- term approach to the UK market and will work with on-trade operators to steadily expose consumers to the brand, its heritage, quality virtues and approachable pricing strategy.”
