New hygiene leaflets from FSA
Local authorities will be distributing new hygiene advice leaflets produced by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in areas where the Scores on Doors scheme is to be implemented.
The FSA has also produced packs for local authorities including template letters to be sent to businesses and a powerpoint presentation to pitch the scheme to council members.
Scores on Doors rates the food hygiene of participating businesses across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The purpose of the scheme is to allow consumers to make informed decisions about where they eat out, and through this, to encourage businesses and to improve hygiene standards,
