Dark Star’s move ups its capacity
Sussex brewer Dark Star opened the doors to its new brewery last week to cater for higher consumer demand.
The new 16,000sq ft brewery in Partridge Green will allow production capacity to rise by 300%.
Eleven miles west of its previous Haywards Heath plant, it is the brewer’s third new site in eight years.
“This is the biggest investment we’ve made to date. Despite the current economic climate, it reflects our confidence in the long-term development of the real-ale market,” said managing director Paul Reed.
“Our confidence is also boosted by the broad spectrum of people that are discovering real ale from across age and social groups.
The new brewery was opened by Morning Advertiser columnist and Good Beer Guide editor Roger Protz.
