Prize Old Ale makes a return
Aged beer Gales Prize Old Ale is back. The 9% ABV limited-edition beer, which is aged for 18 months and is a blend of new and old brews, is only available once a year and has gained a cult following.
Brewer Fuller’s adds a small amount of the last Prize Old Ale to be brewed at the Gales Brewey in Hordean, Hampshire, to every batch. “When Fuller’s acquired Gales in 2005, people were concerned that Prize Old Ale would be consigned to history,” said MD John Roberts.
“But we appreciated and respected the long established tradition of this fine beer.”
