Eleventh site for Principle Leisure

North-east pub operator Principle Leisure is set to open its 11th site — in a former video store in Guisborough, Teesside.

It will be the first Teesside venue for Principle, which already operates 10 sites. It has leased the derelict site for an undisclosed sum and has planning permission to create a Continental bar, complete with roof terrace.

Under Redcar & Cleveland Council’s “Uplifting our Town Centres” initiative, the project will benefit from a 50% contribution to external renovation costs.

Work has already started and the venue is set to open in early spring.

Stuart Young, managing director of Principle Leisure, said: “The company has already built a strong reputation across Tyne & Wear, Yorkshire and the Midlands and we are extremely excited about working with the council to bring the brand to Teesside for the first time.”

Principle operates seven venues across the north-east and three in Sheffield and Nottingham.
