Sunset buys 7th pub

Sunset Taverns has bought its seventh pub — the Duke William in Burslem, Staffordshire.

Agent Christie+Co sold the pub on behalf of a corporate pub client for an undisclosed sum.

The pub has been closed and boarded up for a number of months. The three-storey end-of-terrace site is located in the corner of a retail square in the market town of Burslem. It comprises a 30-cover bar, 50-cover lounge, 100-cover first-floor function room with bar servery, and three-bedroom owner’s accommodation.

Sunset Taverns currently owns another six pubs in the Staffordshire area.

Gavin Wright, director at Christie+Co, said: “Following our successful marketing campaign, we sold the property to an experienced operator who plans to refurbish the premises throughout and resume trading as a public house.”
