Six days left to enter BII Licensee of the Year

Licensees have just six days left to get their entries in for the BII Licensee of the Year.

BII: searching for the best licensees

The competition is open to all lessees, tenants, managers and freeholders with the winner set to enjoy a year of extensive local, national and trade publicity.

The award will be presented at the BII’s annual lunch at London’s Grosvenor House in May.

The BII is looking for licensees who show:

• Show great business ability

• Commitment to improving themselves and their staff

• Passion about the business and can speak knowledgeably about industry affairs

• Ambassadorial qualities for professionalism in licensed retail

The first stage of entering is answering a series of true and false questions on the BII website.

Shortlisted entrants are invited to answer three further questions about their business and management style and then whittled down again to semi-finalists.

These are each visited at their outlet and interviewed by two independent judges, and six finalists are then selected to present to a panel of judges in April 2010.

“To win such a prestigious award is amazing, but even if you’re not fortunate enough get through to the final stages, just entering will make you revalue your business, look at how you do things and certainly improve your profit,” said last year’s winner Philip Davison of the Sun in the Wood, Newbury, Berkshire.

• To enter visit www.bii.org/loya. The deadline for entries is 15 February.
