Somerset based Cider Company; Brothers Drinks are the latest to launch a Tequila flavoured cider. Famous for its refreshingly different range of ciders, Brothers are launching the new Tequila flavoured cider under the brand name of “Perro Loco” which translates from Spanish to Mad Dog.
Cider is still the fastest growing category and is now worth £2.7billion. The fact that beer volumes have steadily fallen suggests that beer drinkers may be switching their allegiances to cider when drinking in pubs/bars. Mintel have forecasted continued growth given the broad appeal and increasing usage occasions, with cider now accounting for 13% of the total drinks market.
Consumer Marketing Manager, Cheryl Sheppard says “Innovation has been the driving force behind the success of cider and its continued growth; but there are only so many fruit flavours a fixture can take. Consumers are looking for something new. More lager drinkers are switching to cider, and with the rising popularity of brands such as Desperados, it’s time for cider to deliver something even more refreshing to the category.”
Perro Loco is available now, and will embrace the light-hearted sense of humour that has made Brothers Cider such a success. A range of point of sale is available including posters, interactive drip mats to create theatre in outlet, bar runners, back bar displays and consumer giveaways including giant sombreros and moustaches.
