Lincolnshire brewer Batemans has linked up with local train service Central Trains to offer discounts to customers visiting its brewery visitor centre.

Batemans, based in Wainfleet for 125 years, offers visitors a tour of its brewhouse, other entertainment including pub games and a collection of over 5,000 beers from around the world.

Customers travelling by train to the brewery can now receive a 25 per cent discount on ticket prices if they buy the tour package in advance. It is hoped the scheme will help address the problem of drink-driving for those who want to sample the beers while on the tour and also attract more visitors with promotions in railway stations.

Steve Goodwin of Central Trains said: "Visitors to the brewery needn't worry about drinking and driving after sampling some of the beers as the brewery is conveniently located right next to Wainfleet station where visitors can catch their return train journey home after a hard day at the bar."

The tour ticket is available at all UK mainline stations.
