The Hospitality Training Foundation (HTF) is hoping to end confusion over staff training through its new website.
The site, at www.htf.org.uk, includes information on what courses are available, where they are run and which qualifications are most appropriate for that particular job.
The move follows widespread concern over the lack of new recruits to the industry, the high staff turnover levels and the image many graduates had of it as being a temporary job not a career.
Licensees and pub operators have since been urged to train staff and offer them routes to promotion to encourage them to stay in the industry.
While this has been successful, there is a growing number of courses now available and many licensees are unclear as to which course they should be using.
The HTF website includes:
a database of training coursesa database of colleges where courses are runa database of industry qualifications with what is involved and what position they relate toa map of career progression routes within the industryan on-line discussion forum for employers to give their views on new government policy or different coursesa news section on new training options and courses.
