The six regional winners of the 2003 British Institute of Innkeeping's Licensee of the Year award have been announced. A panel of industry judges will decide a national winner next month, and the result will be revealed at a ceremony in March. BII marketing manager Brigitte Rushmore said: "These licensees should be really proud to have reached this final stage of the competition and truly deserve to be in the last six." The award recognises the licensees or licensee couples who have shown professionalism, high standards and vision. The winners are: London and East Anglia ­ Clare and Tim Cutting, the Crumpled Horn, Upminster. Midlands and Wales ­ Yvonne Atkins, Joott, Lichfield. North ­ David and Gillian Heyes, the Garsdale Country Inn and Restaurant, Bury. Scotland, North-east and Cumbria ­ Andrew Hardy, Fiesta Havana, Douglas, Isle of Man. South-east ­ Clive Mansell and Alison Carter, the Ship Inn, Whites Hill, Owslebury. South-west ­ Andrea Greenwood, the Westbourne, Westbourne, Bournemouth.
