Chefs with a passion for fish are being invited to enter their best recipes into the Norwegian Seafood Recipe Challenge 2003.
The competition is open to all professional chefs in the UK, and the organisers are very keen to encourage more entries from pub chefs.
Entrants should submit an original recipe for a main course featuring Norwegian cod, haddock or prawns by May 21.
The 10 finalists will be invited to take part in a cook off in June judged by top chefs including Jean-Christophe Novelli. The winner will get a gastronomic trip to Norway while the runners up will get cash prizes.
There is also a competition aimed at young chefs - the Norwegian Seafood Focus Student Challenge.
Entrants for the competition need to be full or part time students and devise a recipe for a main course using Norwegian seafood. The closing date for this competition is February 26 so chefs keen on entering should call the entry form number below, as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, chefs looking for inspiration can get hold of a recipe booklet featuring the recipes from last year's finalists including winner Lee Parsons' recipe for roasted Norwegian cod with black pudding, creamed cabbage and leeks.
