The Morning Advertiser has got together with Wadworth in a bid to find the drink industry's best writer of love poetry! The new campaign for Wadworth's much-loved 6X beer uses visual puns that play on the similarity between 6X and that naughty little word sex, including the "6X appeal", "6X therapy" and "Group 6X" images we've all been seeing recently. All we want you to do is come up with a poem that expresses your love for the Handmade in Devizes' pint that's known throughout the country as one of England's best. To get the ball rolling, we include here a poem by Les Baynton, perhaps better known as the "Pub Poet". 6X APPEAL You caress my lips as I savour your taste, Your perfume tantalises as I drink in your charms, I'm tempted by the fullness of your beautiful body, My senses are overwhelmed Then just emptiness, an anxious thought Can I ever find another beer as beautiful as you? So get writing, and send your entry to Poetry Comp, Morning Advertiser, William Reed, Broadfield Park, Crawley, West Sussex, by 1 May. The winner will receive a luxury weekend for two from a selection of Wadworth's finest managed inns or hotels, as well as the glory of seeing their poem reproduced in the Morning Advertiser. Go for it it's your chance to be the bard of beer!
