Sky takes to the air with new music TV

Sky's three new music channels ­ Scuzz, The Amp, and Flaunt ­ launch today at 2.00pm. Each will be available to Sky digital pub and club subscribers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as part of their entertainment package. The new services will be the first music channels to broadcast in 16x9 widescreen format, allowing pubs to offer their customers the best possible quality when watching the latest videos from their favourite artists. Sky Business Division communications manager Louise Newman said: "We're delighted to be able to add these three new channels to our Sky digital pubs and clubs package. Scuzz, The Amp and Flaunt provide licensees with a wide range of music which they can then match to customer tastes, time of day and venue type." Scuzz, The Amp and Flaunt will each feature a distinctive mix of back-to-back music videos with occasional short, video length programmes. Unlike many music channels, there will be no presenters or long-length programming. Flaunt features music that's a blend of chart, urban and dance. The Amp is for real fans of real music; from Massive Attack to The White Stripes, Coldplay to Eminem, The Streets to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Scuzz is for music fans that like their guitars loud. It promises to bring viewers the best gigs in town and keeps them entertained with short-form programming such as Sick Shorts and Trix. BSkyB's head of music television Lester Mordue said: "These channels will push the boundaries of music TV and one thing is for sure: music TV will never be the same again." Scuzz can be seen on channel 471 on Sky Digital Channel 471, The Amp on channel 469 and Flaunt on Channel 473.
