Punch has appointed a director of logistics to ensure its 4,500 tenants receive their order on time. Simon Ranner, 36, who previously worked as logistics manager for Unique and operations project director for Scottish Courage, will take on responsibility for improved service to tenants by working with suppliers and the distribution network. His role will focus on developing systems and processes to provide information and service to Punch's tenants and suppliers. He said: "The key goals are to ensure Punch retailers get their orders on time and in full, and that any distribution activities such as collections and ullage are executed with optimum service. "We plan to take far greater control of all areas within the supply chain, from taking orders to the point of delivery. "To measure customer satisfaction levels, we will be implementing a customer satisfaction survey on a quarterly basis. "This information, plus additional feedback from our retailers through Frontline, will form the basis for working with our suppliers to develop the best possible service for our pubs." Ranner will also have responsibility for technical services and will work to ensure the company meets service levels agreed in its Retailer Charter.
