Andy Kemp, group sales director of 3663, is taking over the chairmanship of hospitality networking organisation Arena.
He replaces Peter Backman, managing director of Horizons for Success, who is standing down after 15 years in the role.
Mr Backman said: "Andy is well known in the industry and has been a very successful vice chairman of Arena for the last five years, bringing boundless energy and enthusiasm to the job. We are delighted he has agreed to take over as chairman."
During Mr Backman's time at the helm, Arena has brought more than 50,000 people together at fundraising parties, networking lunches and dinners, and has welcomed some of the top names in the industry as guest speakers.
Mr Kemp said: "One of the great things about Arena is that it has very broad appeal. Our events are held at some of the smartest venues, but we have kept them informal and affordable, so in the same room you will find entrepreneurs who are starting out on their own as well as chief executives of multi-nationals.
"My main aim is to ensure that Arena remains open and inclusive and I am hoping to increase membership, especially among younger people in the industry."
