Licensees have finally begun receiving their forms to fill in for the new licensing regime.

Earlier this week the first raft of forms for the premises and personal licences had started to filter through from local authorities to pubs.

Licensee David Hawksworth, who runs the Fox and Hounds in Bullamoor, North Allerton, raised concerns earlier this month that he had not received any information from his local authority. However, he says despite the delay things have started to move forward and he has received copies of the forms.

"We have had a positive response. We have now arranged meetings with our local authority and they have gone through all the forms with us," he said.

"I think this is going to be uneven across the country as I have heard that some licensees are having to download their forms from the internet."

David Franklin, licensee of the Tontine Inn, in Oswestry, Shropshire, says he has received new information from his local authority.

However he told The Publican: "Our local authority have told us to go to the internet as they are still waiting for the forms to be delivered. The local authority is trying to get a meeting together with licensees."
