Buyers will find that the Riflemans Arms in Derbyshire has built up a good following with sports-minded customers, according to its selling agent.

The town-centre pub, which has just come on to the market in Belper, is on Bridge Street (A6) in the Derwent Valley.

"The pub has a very strong following from sports fans and also draws custom from local sports clubs, as well as the users of the nearby Belper Meadows sports ground," said Kieran Petersen, of the Nottingham office of Christie & Co.

"It's believed to be the only pub in the town with Sky Sports Premiership Plus.

"In addition, the pub is tremendously well positioned to take advantage of passing trade."

The three-storey detached property has a Tudor-style frontage and has a 65-cover bar and a pool area.

The owner's accommodation is on the first and second floors and has four bedrooms. There is also a small yard area to the rear.

He added: "Belper's history can be traced back to the 13th century, when it was called Beaurepaire, which means beautiful retreat, a name that still holds true today."

"Mike and Caroline Burdon have owned it for 16 months and are now planning to move closer to their families."

Christie & Co is seeking offers of £90,000 for the leasehold interest of the Riflemans Arms.
