Brains' sponsorship deal with the Welsh rugby team has paid dividends for the Cardiff brewer after Wales' Grand Slam in success in the Six Nations tournament.

New signage went up on Brains' flagship Yard Bar & Kitchen immediately, renaming it the Grand Slam Bar & Kitchen for a week's worth of celebrations by the brewer.

Shortly after the new signs went up on Sunday morning the Welsh team arrived for a post-championship lunch at the bar.

To fuel the continuing national celebrations, 1,000 extra casks of Brains' rugby ale Bread of Heaven are being rushed into pubs and clubs across south Wales with a new Grand Slam image.

Brains' group marketing manager Stewart Dobson said: "We wanted to do two things after Saturday's match - to mark the huge, historic achievement of the team and to show the fans how much we have enjoyed their enthusiasm and support for Welsh rugby over the past two months.

"Brains set out with a campaign of positive thinking around the rugby and what an experience we've all had."
