The MA's PubChef has teamed up with Kitchen Range Foods to offer two lucky licensees the opportunity to win an exciting food study tour to vibrant New York

Do you want to increase food sales in your pub and pick up new ideas for your menu? If so, then make sure you enter our competition to win a four-day all-expenses paid study tour to New York this September.

Morning Advertiser food magazine PubChef has teamed up with combos and lite-bites supplier Kitchen Range Foods as our educational partner, to offer two lucky licensees the opportunity to embark on a food study tour of New York's vibrant and dynamic food scene.

The combos and lite-bites market is a highly lucrative one for bars and restaurants in the US, with the range and choice of appetisers available continuing to grow.

This is also the case in the UK, with continual product innovation such as Kitchen Range's new wasabi tempura mixed vegetables.

Many UK pubs are already reaping the financial rewards of offering combos on their menus and our study tour will offer our winners the chance to find out more about this profit opportunity by visiting successful combo sites and talking to operators.

Head of marketing at Kitchen Range Foods, David Young, says: "Combos and lite-bites are very versatile and suit different audiences including children, families, vegetarians, spice lovers and groups of friends. People meeting for a drink after work are a prime target for a shared platter of lite-bites. Publicans not only benefit from the additional food spend, but if they are happy chatting and nibbling, customers will stay longer and buy more drinks."

Running from 28 September to 1 October, the study tour will include dinner at New York gastro pub the Spotted Pig, meetings with bar operators to find out how the smoking ban affected trade and a visit to a New York deli.

Our winners will also enjoy breakfast at French brasserie Pastis in the city's Meatpackers District, as well as eating in other restaurants, diners and bars to find out how the US market is addressing new food trends, and giving them the chance to pick up new ideas for their own menu. There will also be time to enjoy the sights of one of the most exciting cities in the world.

On their return from New York licensees will be able to put their knowledge into action with the support of Kitchen Range Foods by running a month's trial of combos on their menu: by entering the competition you agree that you are willing to trial combos on your menu for one month.

Kitchen Range will provide free product and point-of-sale material and advice on the combo offer.

To win a place on our study tour simply complete the entry form. Following a paper judging, four finalists will be visited by the judging panel to find out what new opportunities for food you think there are at your pub.

Kitchen Range Foods is also offering five runners-up two cases of combo products.

PubChef editor Jo Bruce says: "The study tour will be an excellent opportunity for licensees to pick up new ideas and inspiration for their pub's food offering. It is going to be packed with inspiration and great fun."

Fill in the entry form without delay and you could be one of two licensees who'll start spreading the news that they are off to the Big Apple as part of this fantastic study tour.
