A London and Edinburgh pub is offering regulars a lot more than a pint and a good ear.

Visitors to the Lemon Tree in Kilwinning, Ayrshire can get their dry-cleaning done, book a holiday, order flowers or buy their fresh butcher's meat as part of a trial aimed at boosting customer numbers.

London and Edinburgh chairman Alan Bowes said, if successful, the pub could offer even more services in the future.

"We have always been a forward thinking company, which is why we are committed to being pro-active and helping bars to offer consumers something new and truly unique.

"The pub is the heart of any community and in an age where we have all got busier and busier we believe that the way forward is to expand the services we offer.

"There was a time when supermarkets sold only groceries, now they sell a whole range of products — we intend to do the same and are actively seeking potential partners to develop these ideas with."
