London & Edinburgh Inns has placed 134 pubs with agent Lambert Smith Hampton. The batch includes a group of 50 freeholds with the remainder leased.
"London & Edinburgh has made these pubs available after a review of its estate and we have seen a surge of interest from all sectors of the market," said agency spokesman Richard Payne. Prices start from £12,000 for a starter lease, up to £1.5m for a top-rated freehold property with the option of alternative use.
Payne said: "The company has already rejected a substantial package deal (for the batch of freeholds) as we felt individually the pubs will achieve better figures." Meanwhile, Pubfolio, the pub operator, is to dispose of 81 sites after a review of its estate. The majority of the pubs are being offered for freehold sale. Neil Morgan, director of agent Christie+Co, which is handling the disposal, said: "The properties are offered for sale as individual units or in groups. Some will be of interest to pubcos or private individuals."
