Strengths: "Our relaxed and stylish décor and layout, and our location," says Richard.

Weaknesses: "The previous owners were not on site and so did not always spot areas for improvement and new opportunities," he says. "There is a dated storage area and the storage areas are very cluttered."

Biggest threats to the business:

* My lack of experience

* The smoking ban

* Lack of funds to invest in state-of-the-art equipment

* The possibility of a mainstream competitor opening nearby

What do you hope to achieve from Sell More, Save More?

"With no experience of the trade I will benefit enormously from the guidance of your champions," says Richard. "Hopefully we can compare progress under your tutelage against the performance of the previous owners."
