One Fuller's pub manager had the luck of the Irish on St Patrick's weekend after Jack Charlton praised his plans for the big day.
Charlton was the judge for Fuller's 'St Patrick's business plan incentive' designed to encourage pubs to make the most of the St Patrick's Day cheer.
He was asked to look at all the entries submitted by Fuller's managers and choose the best - who would win a weekend break to the Emerald Isle and a live performance at their pub by Us4, one of the Worlds greatest U2 tribute bands.
He decided Shaun Patterson at the Hare & Hounds, Sunbury, who had created a special St Patrick's Day newsletter for his staff and customers, stood out from all the other entries and was crowned the winner.
The former Ireland World Cup manager said: "What I really liked about Shaun's entry was his forward planning, he had some great ideas and to tell the local neighbourhood via his St Patrick's day newsletter well in advance was very clever and this set him apart from the other entries."
Patterson said: "I am absolutely delighted to have won. I put a lot of effort into producing my newsletter and I am really pleased that Jack liked it."
