The BII is calling for entrants to the Conflict Professional Licensed Retail Award, which is given to someone who has helped manage and reduce violence at work.

The licensed trade is one of seven sectors recognised in the Conflict Professional Awards, and those that can be nominated include licensees, managers, staff, and trainers.

In addition, BII awarding body BIIAB and City and Guilds are sponsoring a new award created specifically for door supervisors.

The Conflict Professional Door Supervisor Award offers door supervisors the opportunity to show how their personal performance has led to a safer environment for customers.

The winner will receive over £1000 worth of training with ConflictPro, which will lead to qualifications required to train others.

Cathie Smith, BIIAB director, said: "These awards are designed to recognise those people who have made a significant contribution to managing and reducing conflict and violence in the workplace.

"Our industry is now more diverse than ever and it is important to reward both licensed retailers and door supervisors for the important role they play in managing conflict.

"If you know someone who has made a real difference, and whose hard work deserves to be recognised, nominate them today!"

For more information on ConflictPro, visit www.conflictproconference.com or call 01580 881 260. The closing date for entries is August 24.
