Wannabe licensees in the Derbyshire area can get help and advice on starting their own business at a session being run by The Food and Drink Forum on August 15.

The event, taking place between 4:00pm and 6:00pm at Pride Park Stadium, Derby, will act as a taster for the Food and Drink Forum's Start Your Own Business course.

The Food and Drink Forum is spearheading a two-year, £276,300 package to boost the food and drink industry in Derbyshire. The project began at the end of last year and has included events, courses and grants of over £20,000 to help support the food and drink sector in an area covering Derby, South Derbyshire, Erewash, Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales and High Peak. A second Start Your Own Business course is being planned to start on 11 September.

The informal taster session will provide more information about the course, which includes sessions on key business skills such as budgeting, market research, sales and marketing and legal obligations.

The course is free for those living in the area.

To book a place on the course, contact Cheryl Jordan at the Food and Drink Forum on 0115 875 8884.
