JD Wetherspoon (JDW) plans to open at least 28 new pubs before the end of 2008, the Morning Advertiser has learnt. The opening schedule, which the MA has seen, involves 16 new openings before the end of this calendar year. The majority of the pubs have already been named.

The openings are, in date order: Glasgow; Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, and Gloucester (all in September 2007); Basildon, Essex; Leeds, West Yorkshire; Solihull, West Midlands; Braehead, Renfrewshire, and Birmingham (October 2007); New Ferry, Merseyside; Cambridge; two sites in Manchester and Market Drayton, Shropshire (November 2007); Peterhead, Aberdeenshire; Hertford and Grangemouth, Falkirk (December 2007); Chepstow, Gwent (January 2008);

New Malden, Surrey (February 2008); Bewdley, Worcestershire and Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire (March 2008); Devizes, Wiltshire and Leominster, Herefordshire (April 2008); Bulwell, Nottinghamshire (May 2008); Bodmin, Cornwall (July 2008); Doncaster, South Yorkshire and St Neots, Cambridgeshire (October 2008); Ilfracombe, Devon (November 2008).
