Adnams, the Suffolk brewer, is selling nine of its 80-strong pub estate pubs.

The company owns a portfolio of 80 sites across East Anglia and during a recent review, nine pubs were identified as suitable for disposal.

Adnams' director of retail, Rupert Farquharson said: "Our strategy at Adnams is to develop a pub estate that reflects the underlying values of the Adnams brand.

"The combination of great beer, wine and food is something in which Adnams specialises. We are working closely with our tenants to develop strong, sustainable businesses best placed to serve today's consumers.

"The small number of pubs we are putting on the market will be ideal for other pub operators."

The disposal project will be managed by Christie + Co Associate Director of Corporate Pubs, Anthony Jenkins, who said: "Adnams' pub estate is very highly regarded within the industry and we are confident that the sale of this portfolio will generate considerable interest.

"Opportunities to acquire pubs of this quality are extremely rare and they are likely to appeal to a large number of pub operating companies, breweries and other retailers."

Potential buyers can contact Anthony Jenkins in Christie + Co's London Corporate office on 020 7227 0700.
