Neil Morrissey will set up his own brewery in a new three part series for Channel 4.

Neil Morrissey's Perfect Pint will see the Men Behaving Badly star sign the lease on a pub and brew his own ale onsite, alongside his best-mate turned business partner, Richard Fox.

Morrissey, who has owned several pubs said: "Beer shouldn't be just for men with sparrows in their beard or lager louts. I want to create the everyman's ale."

The show - which is being made by talkbackTHAMES and Jamie Oliver's production company Fresh One - will follow the pair as they search for a property, tour pubs throughout Britain in search of the perfect ale recipe and make their very first brew.

The duo have six months to turn it into a successful business, even though both have never brewed before.

The show will air at 10pm on a weekday, although there are no confirmed broadcast dates as yet.

Fresh One executive producer Zoe Collins said: "I can think of few programme-makers who wouldn't jump at the chance to make a TV series about beer. With Neil Morrissey. What a joyous prospect is that?"
