Andrew Pern of the Michelin-starred Star at Harome, North Yorkshire, is investing £500k on a new kitchen and dining room at the pub.
A new chef's table area will open out onto a kitchen garden being developed by one of the Star's suppliers.
The new kitchen will feature a £62k 3.2-metre long Athanor stove.
The pub's old Molteni oven will be used in the small kitchen area to cater for the chef's table area, which will also feature a rotisserie to add theatre.
Andrew said: "It will essentially be my table for friends and family, while also having the capacity for small hands-on demonstrations for six to eight people." He is also launching a cookbook Black Pudding & Foie Gras, named after one of his signature dishes on 12 May. The book features 15 starter recipes, 20 mains recipes, 15 desserts, six cheese recipes, 10 drinks and a chef's pantry section with stocks etc.
Last year the Star introduced a range of speciality foods including sauces such as smoked salmon & tartare velouté and Pern's Provençal for customers to enjoy at home.
Andrew and Jacquie Pern took on the freehold of the Star Inn in 1996 and the operation also includes a corner shop, accommodation and butcher's and deli shop in nearby Helmsley.
