Cider company Brothers is continuing its long-standing associations with music festivals through a number of sponsorships this summer.

It said the activity will mean the brand being exposed to over half a million festival goers in 2009.

The brand which rose to prominence as the official cider of Glastonbury has lost that title to Gaymers. But, while it retains a bar at the premier music festival, Brothers has now said it is prioritising more boutique events instead.

This year, it will sponsor Guilfest, NASS Extreme Sports Festival, Glade Festival, Wickerman Festival and Secret Garden Party in July; Brighton Pride and Boardmasters Surf Festival, Creamfields and Clapham Weekender in August; an Big Beach Boutique in September.

"By targeting these events and avoiding the larger, tired mass-market festivals that other beer and cider brands are so fond of, Brothers Cider will continue to actively engage with free thinking, opinion forming consumers and be a desired brand amongst its target market," said Brothers managing director Matthew Showering.
