The former partner of Ben Davey - the missing licensee who disappeared seven weeks ago - says he has not given up hope despite a national appeal drawing a blank.

Nick Webster remains seriously concerned about Ben, who mysteriously disappeared on July 20. Up until April, the couple were running the Crown Inn, in Paull, near Hull.

"Sadly we've had zero result, but there's still got to be hope," said Nick, his civil partner for four years.

This week Ben's sister Rebecca made a video appeal saying his family were "desperate" for him to make contact.

"Ben, I don't know whether you're safe and well or whether you really want to be found, or the reasons why you have gone missing, but we are really worried now," she said.

She added: "God forbid something bad has happened, but hopefully he's just gone away and wants some time on his own."

Ben was last seen cashing a cheque in Hull city centre, but there have been no confirmed sightings of him since.

As part of their search, detectives from Humberside Police have also contacted bars in Majorca where he used to visit with Nick.

Ben was last seen wearing blue denim jeans and a distinctive Liverpool FC waist-length jacket with logos on the front and back. He is 6ft 2 ins tall, of thin build with short brown hair.

Anyone with information should contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060222.
