JD Wetherspoon will now be able to take advantage of Carlsberg's sponsorship of the England football team in World Cup year.

As exclusively revealed in the Morning Advertiser​ three weeks ago, JDW has moved to replace Coors with Carlsberg.

The official switchover takes place this Thursday (17 September). Carlsberg and Tuborg will replace Carling and Coors Light in all 750 outlets.

The brands were unveiled today by Carlsberg chief executive Dr Isaac Sheps at a launch to JD Wetherspoon's 1300 staff, at the new O2 Academy venue in Birmingham.

JD Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: "We are committed to offering our customers the best range of drinks and are pleased that they will now be able to enjoy Carlsberg in all of our pubs."

Sheps added: "Our customer driven and ambitious team, supported by our strong international portfolio of brands and 1st class customer service clearly put us apart from our competitors.

"This is a great business win for CUK and continues our commitment to the On Trade and growth strategy with new and existing customers."
