S&N to tackle Welsh issues

Scottish & Newcastle UK (S&NUK) has revealed its action plan to licensees for resolving reported problems with deliveries in south Wales.
It came at a meeting between the regional sales director and area sales manager and around seven hosts from the Brecon area.
Licensees said problems occurred after S&NUK bought SA Brain's distribution service three months ago, trading under the name Heineken Wales.
Licensees accused the firm of failing to deliver correct fonts or collect barrels in time and of being generally inflexible with their deliveries.
Brecon Licensed Victuallers Association secretary John Harries said as part of the plan to resolve the difficulties, licensees would receive more visits from S&NUK reps and the company's sales structure would be altered.
Harries, who hosted the discussions at his freehold pub, the Three Horseshoes Inn at Llanfaes, said: "It
was a lengthy and lively meeting.
"It was amicable, but we put them on the spot. They acknowledged that the transition from Brains to Heineken Wales didn't go as easily as expected."
