Pubs minister Healey snubs major industry debate
New pubs minister John Healey has snubbed an invitation to appear at a Question Time-style event on the pub trade being held in Parliament next week.
Healey had been invited to attend the "Who Will Save the Pub?" event by organisers CAMRA, but it is understood he has declined the invitation. The reason for him not going is unknown.
Instead licensing minister Gerry Sutcliffe is expected to speak on behalf of the government at the event on Tuesday.
Shadow licensing minister Tobias Ellwood will speak on behalf of the Tories and Don Foster for the Liberal Democrats.
CAMRA's chief executive Mike Benner will also be on the panel and All-Party Save the Pub group head, Greg Mulholland MP, will chair the event, which starts at 7.30pm.
A limited number of places are still available for anyone wanting to be in the audience.
If would like to attend email jenni.hollis@camra.org.uk or call 01727 798 452. If you have a question that you would like to put to the panel, include this in your email.
