Sports Bar & Grill is set to open its third site next to London's Liverpool Street station this summer, with more sites on track to open at the capital's train stations by 2012.
The firm is owned by Bar Holdings and was set up in September 2008 by the original management of the now broken-up Sports Cafe Group. Sales for 2010 are forecast at £2.75m delivering an EBITDA of £700,000.
Sports Bar & Grill invested £800,000 in acquiring and fitting out its first site, leased from Chiltern Railways, which has three bars trading over two floors, in Marylebone Station.
The second site opened in February 2010 at Victoria Station, after acquiring a new Network Rail lease.
"Sports Bar & Grill Victoria is trading well beyond our expectations and our like-for-like sales in Marylebone are more than 35% up," said David Evans, managing director.
"It's a phenomenal success story in what are very difficult times and I am delighted for the management who supported me by joining from the Sports Cafe.
"It proves what can be achieved without the constraints of a public limited company board and with cost controls tasked to each and every staff member."
